Dr. Monica Taylor is a member and Council Chair for Delaware County Council. Dr. Taylor served as our Graduation Speaker in 2023 and was conferred an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree by PIT. Dr. Taylor worked to launch the County Health Department in April of 2022 and form the Delaware County Maternal Health Coalition. Dr. Taylor is also a professor and program director in the Kinesiology department at Temple University and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Taylor is also an excellent basketball player and played professionally in Ireland! Dr. Taylor has served on the Upper Darby School Board and the Delaware County Intermediate Units Board of Directors.

Barbara Wadsworth is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Main Line Health. Ms. Wadsworth’s leadership helped Main Line Health to achieve Magnet® status, along with the inaugural Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Main Line Health. Ms. Wadsworth earned her doctorate in Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University in Health Systems Leadership and has completed several executive fellowships. Ms. Wadsworth also serves on many boards, including the Montgomery County Board of Health, and as a co-chair for the American Heart Association. Ms. Wadsworth exemplifies commitment to the health and safety of our community through and we are honored to have her as the keynote speaker at commencement.

Laura Blomgren, MBA is the Vice President of Enrollment Management. Laura earned her Bachelors and MBA in Financial Management from Goldey-Beacom College. Laura is a fierce leader who is unafraid to speak her mind and advocate for the needs of her students and staff. She is not only an effective role model and director, but she is also a compassionate dog mom to sweet Taco and a caring friend. Laura is the definition of girl power!

Edith “Edie” McFall was the former Assistant Registrar for the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology in Media from 1999 to 2018. Edie also was a long-time board member at the Ridley Park Library. The library recognized her dedication and service by renaming their children’s library to the Edith McFall Memorial Children’s Library.

Denise Boyle is the Program Director for our Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program. Professor Boyle’s dedication to the DMS program is unwavering as evidenced by her tireless efforts to ensure its success and relevance. Professor Boyle’s willingness to collaborate with other programs showcases her commitment to fostering a cohesive academic environment. She consistently upholds a standard of excellence, pushing her students and colleagues to strive for greatness. Under her leadership, the DMS program has experienced remarkable growth, a testament to Boyle’s visionary approach and dedication to the field. Denise Boyle truly embodies the qualities of a leader who not only contributes to the advancement of her program but also uplifts the entire community through her passion and commitment.

Jessica Fivecoat is a member of our Facilities Department. Jess can be compared to Rosie the Riveter, a World War II icon. Even though she’s not fastening rivets or welding aircraft, Jess works tirelessly with the other facilities staff keeping our campus in tip top shape. Our flower gardens never looked so good! Jess is unafraid to get her hands dirty and work in all kinds of weather. Jess is truly an asset to our community not only for her work ethic, but also for her warm and kind personality.

Dr. Heather Pfleger is the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Pfleger demonstrates unwavering support for our community through her leadership and advocacy. Her commitment to enhancing educational opportunities is exemplified by her initiatives to empower program directors in refining and expanding their programs. Under her guidance, these efforts have transformed hundreds of students’ lives each term, offering them new career pathways and degrees that align with evolving industry demands. Dr. Pfleger’s dedication fosters academic excellence and nurtures progress within our community. Her work ensures that education remains a powerful tool for societal advancement. Dr. Pfleger earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from St. John’s University.

Geralyn Swindell, RN, BSN is a member of our Practical Nursing Program and also our Faculty Representative to the Board. Professor Swindell has dedicated over fifteen years of service to educating future nurses and supporting students through tutoring and teaching. Professor Swindell was named Educator of the Year in 2023 by the Pennsylvania Association of Practical Nursing Administrators (PAPNA).

Professor Deb Portone is a faculty member in our Practical Nursing Program. Prof. Portone’s passion for nursing education and collaborative talents have contributed significantly to our college’s success and the partnerships we have across our community. Professor Portone has contributed to our college’s success by recruiting and maintaining some of the most coveted Clinical rotations in the area. Prof. Portone’s dedication to nursing education has greatly improved the education experience for all P.I.T. students and led to the development of new programs.

Honorable Atinuke (Tinu) B. Moss, J.D. is a member of our Board and Judge in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Judge Moss is a graduate of Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, where she graduated with her Juris Doctorate and an LLM in Taxation. Judge Moss has over a decade of experience in family, criminal and civil law in Delaware County.

Terri Walklett is the Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Ms. Walklett is an extraordinary example of a woman that makes our community great. Ms. Walklett’s impact is seen in the way she so effortlessly assists multiple programs with essential day-to-day functions. Terri’s dedication to her role and her institutional knowledge demonstrates her commitment to our college’s values. Her positive attitude and unwavering collegiate spirit make her a must-have collaborative partner for any project and a trusted advisor for any challenging situation. Terri also volunteers on multiple committees at PIT, including the Events Committee/Designer Bag Bingo Committee, Middle States Committee and Interview Committee.

Dr. Elizabeth Menschner is a member of our Board. Dr. Menschner is currently the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders. Prior to this role Dr. Menschner served as the Vice President of Patient Care Services at Riddle Hospital and was the interim CNO and Vice President of Patient Care at Temple University Health System. Dr. Menschner has a doctorate degree in Executive Nursing Practice from Drexel University.

Professor Kathleen Prendergast is a member of our Nursing Faculty. Professor Prendergast has an exceptional ability to write curriculum that is engaging and vital to the role of the practical. She exemplifies the sacrifice, intelligence, and intuition it takes to be a great nurse educator and spends her time ensuring the P.I.T. Practical Nursing Program provides quality education opportunities. Her dedication to our program led to her becoming our first Assistant Director for Lab and Clinical Experience. Her ingenuity has contributed to one of the highest jumps in program improvement our college has ever seen.

Kathy Hynson, LPN is a member of our Board. She is currently the Outpatient Lead LPN at White Horse Village, where she has worked for over 25 years. Ms. Hynson has dedicated her career to working within our community. Fun fact about Ms. Hynson- she enjoys riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle! Ms. Hinson serves as a deaconess at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and annually organizes a group that participates in the Susan G. Komen Walk for a Cure.

Joanne Callahan is our Senior Enrollment Coordinator in the Department of Admissions. Joanne is a kind, thoughtful, and dedicated woman. She has been with PIT for many, many years and has always remained dedicated to the college, mission, and employees. While she is a phenomenal worker, she is much more than that. Joanne is always thinking of others, putting others above herself, and lending a helping hand. She never shies away from being an ear to listen or a hand to help.

Susan K. Garrison is a member of our Board. Susan is a graduate of Villanova University’s School of Law. She has a J.D. degree and an LLM in Taxation, as well as a B.A. from Gettysburg College. After graduation, Susan became an associate with the firms of Dechert, Price & Rhoads, Surrick & Gollatz, and Gollatz & Associates prior to establishing this practice in 1986. Susan was also a recipient of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce’s Athena Award in 1998.

Elizabeth Castelli-Bryant is a faculty member in our Academic Development Program. Ms. Castelli-Bryant is 100% invested in her students and their success. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every student understands the class material and that nobody falls behind. She is real with her students, making her relatable and trustworthy. Her students feel seen and heard, undoubtedly leaving her class a better person than before. Ms. Castelli-Bryant always reminds us, to remember the golden rule: treat others how you want to be treated.

Mary Kathryn Burke is a member of our Board. Ms. Burke served as the Chief Executive Officer at White Horse Village until her retirement. Ms. Burke holds a Master’s in Health Care Administration from Cabrini College. Ms. Burke dedicated her career to helping others through social work and health care administration.

Kamira Evans is Vice President of Student Engagement, Chief of Staff, and our Title IX coordinator. Ms. Evans leads student support services, ensuring everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive academically and personally. Ms. Evans is a student advocate, amplifying student voices and championing their rights. Ms. Evans has worked in higher education for over 15 years, with a focus on creating and providing services and interventions designed to close opportunity gaps for students who are from historically marginalized demographics, challenging socioeconomic backgrounds, and/or are first-generation students. Ms. Evans also serves as the Secretary of the Delaware County Women’s Commission and as a Board Member of No Longer Bound Prevention and Training Services.
