The New Norm- Business Not-As-Usual

One of the marvelous things about the business world is the variety of industries that allow you to discover new opportunities around each corner. One-third of all U.S. job vacancies are sales jobs, always, no matter the region or current economy. Pennsylvania Institute of Technology is now among the elite number – just 3% – of universities that offer professional sales education. The new Professional Sales Readiness Program prepares you for a wide range of technology-enabled sales roles.

Upon graduation, you will receive valuable professional credentials such as your Certificate in Professional Sales, Credly Sales Badge, and 3 Transferable Credits. These additional skills can increase your networking opportunities and maximize your career advancement options.

How does it work?

This innovative course can be completed entirely online from the convenience of your home. The Zoom video conferencing platform is used to create your virtual classroom. You’ll meet and collaborate online with your instructors and other students for each class session.

Most people have natural sales talent – you probably do, too! Did you know that most people have natural sales ability? If you are sociable, interested in learning about other people, enjoy solving problems and finding answers, you’re probably one of them.

In this new course, you will:

  • Discover your individual strengths and how they align with specific sales careers through a tool called the Chally Sales Assessment.
  • Learn the practical and useful consultative sales process.
  • Receive best-practice instruction in personal branding, resume writing, and interview prep for a well-rounded career discovery approach.

Real-world, hands-on experience. Course developers have worked with major employers to develop and write real-life customer scenarios for student assignments. These employer sales case studies let you learn and practice the sales process in an apprenticeship model.

The skills and behaviors that make a successful salesperson are keys to success in any profession. Among these are needs assessment, research, negotiation, planning, relationship-building, and technology use.

Job placement assistance. Newly certified graduates can go directly into a recruiting pipeline for Major employers. These employers include ATT, Anixter, ARC Document Solutions, P&G, Updox, TeamDynamix, and Salesforce Affiliates (Groove).

Technology-enabled program. Modern sales teams use video conferencing to meet with customers and present proposals. By using Zoom in live class sessions and for student role-play presentations, you’ll get familiar with what’s happening in the contemporary employer environment.

You’ve probably heard the acronym CRM. It stands for customer relationship management. This course allows you to work online within Salesforce, a best-practice CRM system used by many companies.

Digital achievement badge links to jobs, keywords online. When you complete a Certificate in Professional Sales Readiness at P.I.T., you will be awarded a professional credential with digital badging that can be posted to social accounts and shared with potential employers.
