Pennsylvania Institute of Technology Announces Exciting Leadership Updates and New Faculty Appointments

Media, PA, July 8, 2024 – Pennsylvania Institute of Technology (P.I.T.) is pleased to announce several significant updates to its leadership and academic team, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in higher education.

P.I.T. President Matthew Meyers’ Employment Contract Renewed

Matthew Meyers, President of P.I.T., has had his employment contract renewed for an additional three years, effective July 1, 2024. Since assuming his role, President Meyers has exhibited exceptional leadership that has significantly impacted the institution’s growth and development. Under his stewardship, there has been a notable increase in student enrollment, an array of campus improvements, and a heightened level of community involvement. “We are confident that his vision will continue to benefit our students, faculty, and stakeholders,” said Dr. James Capolupo, Ed. D., Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Exciting Changes to the Academic Affairs Team

P.I.T. has announced several key appointments within the Academic Affairs team:

Liz Castelli – Effective July 1, 2024, Liz Castelli will step into the role of Program Director for General Education. Castelli has been an integral part of P.I.T., serving in various capacities and teaching various courses. She is currently a member of the General Education Committee, is actively involved in Middle States Accreditation, and has been the lead faculty member on the EdReady program launching in July. The college is confident that Castelli’s diverse experience and dedication will greatly enhance the General Education program.

Susan Chan-Peter – Effective July 8, Susan Chan-Peter will join the college as a full-time science faculty member. Having served as an adjunct faculty member for several years, Chan-Peter has consistently delivered high-quality education in numerous science courses. Her transition to a full-time position will undoubtedly strengthen the science department and provide even more support for the students.

Shirley Kelly – Effective July 8, Shirley Kelly will become a full-time Practical Nursing faculty member. Kelly has spent several years as a clinical adjunct faculty member in the PN program and has been actively involved in P.I.T.’s Events Committee. Her extensive clinical experience and dedication to the students make her a valuable addition to the PN faculty.

Dr. Katherine Grisham – Joining the institution in August, Dr. Katherine Grisham will assume the role of Program Director for Business Administration. Dr. Grisham comes from Barry University in Miami, Florida, where she served as the Director of Articulation and Academic Agreements. She holds a PhD and an MBA from Volgrad State University in Russia and is currently completing her DBA at Florida International University. Dr. Grisham’s impressive academic background and leadership experience are expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovation to the Business Administration program.
