Services
The Department of Student Services offers and oversees a wide range of resources and services that have been developed to provide specialized support services to the P.I.T. student in most facets of their educational career and in their life. These services include:
- Academic Support Counseling
All students are assigned Academic Support Counselors (ASC) according to their designated major. Each student is expected to meet with their ASC a minimum of twice per academic year. Time management, goal setting, and academic progress are reviewed
regularly according to individual student needs. - Career Planning - Degree Seeking Students
P.I.T. has enjoyed an average placement rate of 94% for its available graduates. Life-long placement services are available to each graduate upon completion of their degree program. Students and alumni are encouraged to use the resource and reference materials available in the Career Planning and Degree Placement Office and the library. Job-hunting books, periodicals, directories, brochures, job postings and other sources of information about careers and specific companies are available. - Externship Placement
Opportunities for extern placement for qualifying SPP students. The externship experience is a class, and does receive a grade. This course is for 6 college credits. The externship experience is your final class requirement to receive your certification from the school. - Grants
Student Support Services a federal TRIO grant: Act 101, a PA state grant - Honor Societies (National and International)
P.I.T. students have the opportunity to join two Honor Societies if they meet the requirements of either society. Both organizations provide students with opportunities that are beyond the experiences of an average college student. - Chi Alpha Epsilon, National Honor Society
Membership in the Chi Chapter of Chi Alpha Epsilon is an honor bestowed on a student as a result of his or her demonstration of the Chi Alpha Epsilon goals to excel academically, to promote academic excellence in others, and to help those who genuinely aspire to achieve the same goals. - Phi Theta Kappa, International Honor Society
Membership in the Alpha Psi Mu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is an honor bestowed on a student as a result of his or her demonstration of the Phi Theta Kappa Hallmarks of superior Academic Achievement or Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship and is conferred ONLY by invitation of the local chapter. - ID Card Services
The College provides one official student photo identification card at no cost to the student. Students must present the card when requested by any authorized teaching, administrative, or security personnel. Replacement ID cards are available for a fee of $20, payable before the ID card is issued. - Job Placement for Degree Seeking Students

P.I.T. Library resources and services are available to all P.I.T. students (wherever they attend class), faculty, and staff. Guest users from outside the immediate P.I.T. community may use the resources of the Library on-site.

Media Campus open 10AM to 2 PM Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch

- Student Lounge
Located on the 1st floor of the Technology Center and across from Room T112, the Student Lounge includes a pool table, television, computer games, comfortable seating and tables. - Student Resource Center
Open computer lab for all students and tutorial lab for degree seeking students - Transfer Counseling - Drexel Dual Admission Program
Drexel University and the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology (P.I.T.) have joined together to create a unique education opportunity: Drexel at P.I.T.! Assistance for degree seeking students to transfer to four year institutions upon graduation
- Tutoring Services
Coursework assistance for degree seeking students. Tutoring Services are provided in the Student Resource Center by either a peer, associate or professional tutor.
All of these services are available to any student who chooses to make the most of their college careers by using all of the programs, resources, and services that are available to them.
