Medical Assistant with Externship
The purpose of the Medical Assistant Program is to prepare students for employment in a variety of clinical positions in the health care field. Graduates are prepared to work in various health care settings including: medical offices, nursing homes, hospitals and rehabilitation centers.
Medical Assistant graduates are able to:
- Communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
- Understand Medical Laws and Ethics.

- Phlebotomists
- Understand Anatomy and Physiology.
- Understand various Aseptic Techniques.
- Perform EKGs.
- Interview patients, vital signs, patient charting and proper documentation.
- Prepare the medical facilities for office examinations.
- Manage medical emergencies.
- Teach crutch walking.
- Patient education.
