ATI TEAS Preparation Course - Questions and Answers

Question: “What is the ATI TEAS Preparation Course?”

Answer: The ATI TEAS Preparation non-credit course is an opportunity provided by the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology to assist you meet the minimum threshold scores in this important test. Both the Practical Nursing and Physical Therapist Assistant programs offered by the College require the achievement of minimum threshold scores on the ATI TEAS for admission.

Question: “What is the TEAS®?”

Answer: TEAS® is the Test of Essential Academic skills that measures competency in reading comprehension, mathematics, science and English and language usage. The test is offered by the College at established dates. The complete test takes about 200 minutes to complete.

TEAS® is used by most, if not all, nursing and physical therapist assistant programs for admissions purposes.

Question: “When will the ATI TEAS Preparation Course be offered?”

Answer: The ATI TEAS Preparation Course is composed of four class sessions on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the College’s Media Campus.

The College may consider offering additional sessions throughout the calendar year.

Question: “How much does the ATI TEAS Preparation Course cost?”

Answer: Registered students at the College may take the ATI TEAS Preparation at no additional cost. Individuals who are not registered students at the College may participate in the ATI TEAS Preparation Course at the cost of $175 per session.

Question: “How do I register for the ATI TEAS Preparation Course?”

Answer: If you wish to enroll in this program, please contact Terri Walklett at MWalklett@PIT.edu Space is limited so enroll early!

Question: “Are textbooks required for the ATI TEAS Preparation Course?”

Answer: Yes, the College has selected the following textbook:

ATI TEAS Secrets: Study Guide
6th edition
Published by Mometrix Test Preparation
ISBN: 978-1-51670-383-8

This textbook is required for the course. It may be purchased through Amazon or any bookseller.

Question: “I am a registered student at P.I.T. May I enroll in subsequent ATI TEAS Preparation course sessions when they are offered?”

Answer: Yes, you may enroll in subsequent sessions at no additional cost provided you are a registered student at the College.

If you are not a registered student at the College, the cost for each session will be $175 payable in advance.

Question: “Is there homework between class sessions?”

Answer: The course is structured so that class sessions provide students with the opportunity to reinforce the fundamentals required to be successful on ATI TEAS. The textbook includes links that enable students to review fundamentals, watch videos and take practice tests.

The College’s Student Innovation Center and Library’s computers provide the opportunity to access links to visit review videos.

Question: “May I take the ATI TEAS at P.I.T.?”

Answer: Yes, you may take the ATI TEAS at the College’s Media campus on the following dates:
